The department of chemical engineering is committed to providing the highest quality of education. Ch E Department offers Nuclear Energy Minor
A resurgence of interest in nuclear energy as an alternative to traditional fossil fuels, coupled with nuclear technologies that have been developed for application in the healthcare and food safety industries, has brought forth a demand for engineers and scientists with a background in the nuclear industry. The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has funded the development a nuclear education program within the NMSU Department of Chemical Engineering that will address the growing demand for engineers and scientists with background in the nuclear industry. The program includes a minor for undergraduate students pursuing Bachelor of Science degrees in engineering or science. The program begins the second year of instruction, with new course content added. See our curriculum listings for more information.
