Ch E 301Students visit Freeport MacMoran mine

Students from Ch E 301 and Dr. Mitchell visited the Freeport MacMoran mine in Morenci, AZ on Saturday, April 19, 2008. Sam Roose (NMSU Ch E Alum) and the kind folks at MacMoran provided a great tour of the mine, from the mining of the copper ore through leaching, solvent extraction and electowinning to produce very high purity copper.
