New Mexico State University

During the week of February 20, 2008, E-Council hosted Field Day at the horseshoe to commemorate National Engineer’s Week. Among tough zumo wrestlers, avid jousters, energetic bungee runners, good music, and food, engineering students enjoyed a sunny day in the horseshoe taking a break from their busy schedule. We want to thank all the volunteers that helped out with the activities as well as our sponsors, without them these activities woul d not be possible.

This year Engineer’s Week at New Mexico State University was a great success. We wanted to organize an event that was both enjoyable and representative of the College of Engineering. This year a new tradition was established. We wanted to show professors, in the various Engineering disciplines, how much they impacted our lives over the past year and throughout the college experience. Due to their exemplary performance and assistance to the Engineering discipline, three professors were chosen out of several candidates, to receive our Distinguished Professor Award.

  • David Rockstraw (Chemical Engineering)
  • Satish Kamat (Industrial Engineering)
  • Joseph Genin (Mechanical Engineering)

We appreciate their participation and enthusiasm during the course of the 2007-2008 academic year. It was a great time for all, and we hope to see you next year!
